 AGVSS was established in 1997 with an aim to empower the rural masses from the continuous cycle of poverty, backwardness and illiteracy. The founder member of the organization started his career with Shri Anna Hazare at Ralegaon Siddhi. He worked under him for a period of two years and these two years brought in lots of rich experiences personally as well as in developmental fields. The NGO aims to strengthen, coordinate and facilitate the grass-roots level institutions with government support for integrated development of the rural masses.

 The organization believes and initiates the principle of people’s empowerment and strives to organize the poor to ensure their stakes and participation in their personal development and simultaneously lead to our development. The organization facilitates collective decision-making by people and encourages evolution of democratic leadership amongst the people leading to formation of people’s institutions and further the cause of development in that area.

 AGVSS now is a professionally managed and committed NGO active in capacity building of rural youth, women and farmers living below the poverty line for their inclusion in the mainstream and linking them to various government schemes for their social and economic improvement. Our goal is to help the marginalized and vulnerable people to benefit from the development process through participatory gender balanced approaches in order to achieve sustainable livelihood and strive to eliminate poverty in and around Amravati district.


Credibility of the organization

 The organization fully enjoys the confidence of donors, government officials at local, regional and state level and stakeholders. We are recognized at the regional level for empowering the poor through the outstanding works done in watershed development. At the central level, the Government recognizes AGVSS as a credible institution for evaluating watershed projects being implemented in Nagpur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia, Chandrapur and Dhule district of Maharashtra.

  • AGVSS is on the evaluator panel for watershed programs in Nagpur, Wardha, Bhandara, Gondia, Gadchiroli and Chandrapur districts of Vidarbha region and Dhule district of Nashik region in Maharashtra selected vide letter of District Commissioner No: DPAP/32005/Project 76/WC/20/01-08-2006.

  • AGVSS is selected by MoRD as a third party Institutional – NLM for monitoring MGNREGA, NRLM, IAY, NRDWP, NSAP, PMGSY, IWMP and NBA programs of the ministry. The basic premise is achieving an unbiased and objective monitoring. The I – NLM identification allotted to us is ISMH509094

  • AGVSS is empanelled with Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Govt. of India to implement Corporate Social Responsibility Project (CSR). Vide letter of MDWS D. O.No.14018/54 (CSR)/2013-DWS (Stat) Dated. 13 March 2014
